Winners vs Losers

As I sat in the stands tonight and witnessed our women's volleyball team take home their second Independent National Chamionship, I began to think. What is it that separate's winners from losers? I'm certain that every team in the tournament practices the same amount of time throughout the course of the year. Both sides certainly must have had highly recruited athletes join their team that year. What causes one team to do what is necessary to achieve victory and the other to look on and wonder how to get there.
